2017 round up

As seems to be popular these days, and as a way to introduce myself further I thought that I'd write an overview of my last years work and play, mainly in order to share a flavour of what I do and can offer.

Ski Touring in Bavaria

January saw me working delivering ski touring courses in Bavaria, and introducing people to the delights of travelling through the mountains on skis. I'm very fortunate to be able to lead ski touring in Europe for the military

Leaving a DNT Hut in Norway

February had me in Norway for a month training as a Nordic Ski Instructor.

Canoe Sailing on a Coach Education course

March saw me working both in North Wales and Bavaria again.

Climbing Piz Buin

April Ski Touring (Silvretta) Holiday - I introduced several friends to a tour, including the 'reluctant alpinist'

Cornwall - Cragging holiday

Lyngen - need I say more?

May - Lyngen Alps- one of the most inspirational and wild places I have ever ski'd. We managed 1500m of ascent each day, and the most beautiful ski offs, in exceptional conditions!

Whitewater Leadership Development

June - Soca, Slovenia - one of my favourite annual pieces of work is a 10 day WW kayak leadership development experience week, and every year it gets better than the last!!

6 Bridesmaids!

July - A couple of weeks working and getting rained on in the Swiss Alps, and some rather exciting kayaking whilst we were meant to be climbing mountains... Then we got married!

Minimoon in Tirol!

August - Minimoon in the Alps, and then back to the Alps for a couple of weeks mountaineering work

Rock climbing in Borrowdale for work!

Sept - Work, move house and go half time! oh, and start the coaching diploma

Possibly the Ogwen?

Oct - Kayaking in Scotland and the Einig incident (http://www.pyranha.com/blog/?p=19778)

Amazing Open Boating conditions on Loch Arkaig

Nov - Couple of weeks open boating in Scotland, new coach awards provider orientation and settle into Kendal.

Aquaris in the Rockies, Canada

Dec - Canada ice climbing, and finally being signed off as an advanced water leader tutor and assessor!

That was an exceptionally busy year! My main focus for this year is to develop a more solid base of work and play in the Lake District, develop my own course schedule independently and continue to support others developments.
